Who controls your information
Farming Homestead Online is the controller of personal information collected through farminghomestead.online. The service operates in Zimbabwe. Privacy questions and requests can be sent through the Support page or by WhatsApp to +263 77 394 5800.
We handle personal information under Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] and other applicable requirements. This notice explains the information used by the current website and does not describe payment or subscription products that are not active.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, username, sign-in provider, profile details and the technical records needed to keep an account secure.
- Project Pack requests: the selected Pack, request reference, account name and email, customer-confirmed name, WhatsApp number, inquiry state, access grants and download history.
- Email updates: the email address entered in the footer, the page source, the wording version accepted and the date and time of consent.
- Support and complaints: the information a person chooses to send when asking for help, reporting an error or making a complaint.
- Reader replies: the reply text, member account, article, submission time and the technical anti-abuse details WordPress records when a signed-in reader joins a Guide discussion.
- Website and security information: cookies, login/session records, page and device information, server logs and signals used to operate, protect and improve the service.
- Advertising measurement: advert position, campaign, page path and time, plus a privacy-reduced visitor estimate and any coarse location already supplied by the hosting environment.
Why we use it
We use information to create and secure accounts, remember the Pack a customer selected, respond to inquiries, open paid access after payment is checked, deliver protected files, collect and moderate useful Guide replies, provide support, record consented email subscriptions, measure site and advert performance, prevent abuse and comply with legal or accounting duties.
Depending on the activity, processing is based on the person’s consent, the steps requested before or during a customer relationship, a legal obligation, or Farming Homestead Online’s legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service where that interest does not override the person’s rights.
Payments and WhatsApp
The website does not collect money, an EcoCash PIN, a Google code or a one-time password. A signed-in customer can ask for payment details through a prepared WhatsApp message. The site records the inquiry and the account that should receive access. When the customer opens WhatsApp, WhatsApp and its provider process that communication under their own terms and privacy notice.
Google sign-in, analytics and other service providers
Google sign-in is provided through Nextend Social Login. Google receives the information required to complete the sign-in chosen by the user. Google Analytics receives ordinary website and device signals for page and engagement measurement; signed-in administrators are excluded. Independent Analytics stores separate cookieless traffic reports in this WordPress database.
Hosting, security, WordPress membership and authorised technical-support providers may process limited information when required to run the service. We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to service providers acting for the site, when the person asks us to, or when lawfully required.
Cookies and browser storage
WordPress and the membership/sign-in tools use cookies needed for login, account security and preferences. The site may store a low-data display preference in the browser. Analytics and embedded third-party services may set or read their own identifiers where their current configuration requires them. Browser controls can remove optional storage, but blocking essential login cookies will prevent account features from working.
International processing
Some providers, including Google and WhatsApp, may process information outside Zimbabwe. We limit the information sent to what is needed for the chosen service and use providers subject to their published safeguards and terms. Contact Support before using those optional services if you need another available route.
How long information is kept
- Email subscription records are kept while consent is active and are suppressed or removed after withdrawal is processed.
- First-party advertising events are deleted after 395 days.
- Account, inquiry, entitlement, download and support records are kept only while needed to operate the account, prove access, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or meet legal and accounting duties.
- Reader replies and their moderation history are kept while the discussion remains useful, or longer when needed to handle abuse, a complaint or a legal request.
- Server and security logs follow the hosting and security rotation needed to investigate faults and attacks.
Security
We use access controls, authenticated account sessions, minimum-data collection, protected file delivery, input validation and restricted administrator tools. No internet service can promise absolute security. Please report a suspected account or privacy problem through Support and never send a password, PIN or one-time code.
Your choices and rights
A person may ask what personal information we hold about them, request access or correction, object to processing, withdraw direct-marketing consent, or ask for deletion where the information is false, misleading or no longer lawfully required. We may need to confirm the requester’s identity and may retain information that the law requires or that is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
To exercise a right, use the Support page and identify the account email and the request. Do not send a password, wallet PIN or one-time code. A person may also raise a concern with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe in its role as the Data Protection Authority.
Email updates
Email updates are optional. The signup form records an address only after the consent box is selected. Consent can be withdrawn at any time through Support and an unsubscribe link will be included when campaign sending begins. Withdrawing marketing consent does not remove a Project Pack account or access record.
Children
The service is intended for adults planning or managing land and farm projects. We do not knowingly seek newsletter or account information from a child without the involvement of a competent adult. Contact Support if information was supplied without appropriate authority.
Changes to this notice
Material changes will be shown on this page with a new update date. The current notice should be checked before supplying new information.
Browser notifications
If you choose Yes, notify me, this website asks your browser for permission to send a short alert when a new Guide or story is published. No email address is needed. Your browser and its push service create a device subscription, which PluginLabs Notify stores in encrypted form for delivery.
PluginLabs Notify records privacy-reduced activity needed to show the opt-in funnel and delivery results, including a pseudonymous visitor value, prompt views, choices, active subscriptions, accepted deliveries and notification clicks. The browser also keeps a random visitor value and any “Not now” date in local storage. We do not put your name, email address, phone number, payment details or article reply into a notification subscription.
You can refuse the request, choose “Not now”, or switch notifications off later in your browser or device site settings. Browser push providers process the delivery endpoint needed to reach your device. PluginLabs Notify is operated at pluginlabs.cloud/notify.
